a type of forest liana
Cult. A large woody vine with thick, angled and much twisted stems. The rough dark brown bark is used as a substitute for soap since it produces an effective lather in water. The big curved pods contain large seeds known as (Tag) bayugo, (WBM) kayakaya. (MS) kayakaya. These are often pierced in the center and a stick inserted to make a toy spinning top. The knee cap is also called the same respective name in both Tagalog and WBM.
