n.
“cane-leaf”

n.
leaf of the nanga cane
Wrd.Gloss: cane-leaf
Cult. Can be used for roofing - it is finer than coconut leaves. This was especially true in the olden times when the hills were still forested and cogon grass (kalan) was not in good supply. Now the denuding of the hills has been accompanied by the rapid spread of cogon grass and so it is now used fairly exclusively for roofing.
Eng. cane-leaf; leaf of cane
